Late last year, Douglas County Schools leaders stood up for students and taxpayers. They ended public funding for union salaries and expenses, keeping millions of our tax dollars in our classrooms.
Now, groups backed by the same AFL-CIO union that organized a massive teacher strike in Chicago last year are launching a political campaign against Douglas County Schools.
Protests, Lawsuits, Misleading Attacks – the AFL-CIO and their allies are willing to hurt our schools’ good reputation and do whatever it takes to get the money—our money—back.
But this is our school district. Not theirs. We know that money belongs in our classrooms.
